The first step is to establish the period of measurement.
 The second step in the process is to set up the machines to be measured in the Kanban Calculator.

Under the parts tab you enter all the information relative to the parts to be run on the machine

Based on the information you have entered the Kanban Calculator will calculate:
  Run Time Labor Hours
  Inventory Cost
  Setup Labor Hours
  Required Run/Setup Manning
  Total Labor Hours

The Kanban Calculator graphically depicts capacity requirements to meet production demand
for the period specified. Shifts needed on the vertical axis and Days of Inventory running on the horizontal axis. Green means everything is OK. Red means capacity issues.

Based on the previous information you have entered the Kanban Calculator will calculate for you:
  The number of Kanban Cards in Green
  Setup Status "Setting up Longer than Running"
  The number of Kanban Cards in red
  Inventory valuation warnings
  Prints Kanban Cards

The Plant Tab provides a summary of the total plant requirements to run all the parts on all the machines loaded into the Kanban Calculator for the period specified, or you can choose the machines you want to calculate.

 

 
 
 
 

The Kanban Calculator provides a variety of reports and graphs to help you monitor the production process and quickly make needed adjustments. You also can do What-If Scenarios to see how it affects the machine capacity. Like reducing setup times, or improving efficiency.
